Sedona Jeep School's helps off-highway drivers achieve fundamental four-wheeling skills through hands-on experience, with the emphasis on safety, responsible 4-wheel drive practices, and ethical land use. Once a course is completed, not only will clients have gained an awareness of the principles of 4x4 driving, but also will be plugged into the resources for continuing to build skills and knowledge. This way, experience may be gained in a safe and fun manner, rather than by costly trial and error.
Whether you are brand new to off-pavement driving or an experienced four-wheeler looking to hone your 4x4 driving skills with an expert on-board, Sedona Jeep School provides a step-by-step course for trail analysis and driving techniques. The simplest trip down a dirt road or the most extreme rock crawling are both just knowing the fundamentals and applying them at different levels of intensity!
Sedona Jeep School clients spend the majority of the lesson time behind the wheel—we believe the most effective way to learn is by hands-on experience. All classes are scheduled by private appointment, so that your course is tailored to your needs.

4x4 Basic Course • Approximately 2 Hours
4x4 abbreviated instruction course for learning to four-wheel drive. This off road driving lesson gives the client some tips for handling a four-wheel-drive vehicle in Sedona’s rugged terrain. Perfect for those who are just “trying it out” or who want to “brush up”. This course focuses on driving skills and trail etiquette, with basic principles of preparation and recovery.
2-hour Course with your own four-wheel drive...$150
2-hour instruction plus Jeep rental...$295
Half-Day 4x4 Practical Course • Approximately 4 hours
Our most popular course! A half day of instruction for those who want to learn all of the practical aspects of four-wheeling. This hands-on lesson includes preparation, driving techniques, trail etiquette and basic recovery techniques in a variety of terrain. Learn what your 4x4 can do and how to read trails and analyze obstacles. A half day is the perfect amount of “digestible” instruction for most people.
Half-Day Course with your own four-wheel drive...$250
Half-Day Course plus Jeep rental...$395
4x4 Intensive Training • Approximately 8 hours
A full day of instruction for those who want to immerse themselves in the four-wheeling experience. We start at your present level, review the fundamentals, assess the capabilities of your vehicle, and incrementally build up your 4x4 skills to meet a variety of challenges. This off road driving lesson includes preparation, driving techniques, trail etiquette and recovery, with more time to expand on topics which may be of special concern for you. Learn to read terrain and analyze obstacles in various conditions and terrain types. This offers more extensive guided practice than the half-day course.
The full-day course can be physically and mentally demanding—we recommend discussing your specific needs with an instructor before you book this! Two consecutive half-day courses are an optional way to achieve the same course objectives.

Custom Group Packages
Corporate, industrial, family, or friends--Sedona Jeep School offers group rates and custom packages from 1-hour to 1 week. Intensive instruction, casual backcountry adventures, teambuilding, and more. Locations and staging available throughout the Southwest US. Consulting available at your facilities or location.
